Demi Moore Revamps Fall Suit Trend with Button-Up Gown
Demi Moore has entered a fashion phase. All year long, the actress has been pulling off looks and accessorizing with her little pooch, Pilaf. From sheer Gucci dresses to wide pants and matching pantsuits, her style is smart, sophisticated, and wink-worthy. She's also a trendsetter and trend-setter: in June, Moore revived the often-forgotten gladiator sandal of the 2010s. And last night, she hit the red carpet in a suit dress that was a mission statement against newly formed fashion norms.
Appearance: suit gown. Moore attended the premiere of her new film, The Substance, at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival on September 5. The floor-length, black satin-like pencil skirt begins just above the waist with a cummerbund-like band. Underneath the skirt was a slim-fitting white button-up layered with a black tie around her neck.
Dressed by longtime stylist Brad Goresky, she wore Tiffany diamond vine drop earrings, two thick Tiffany diamond rings, a small star brooch clipped to her left hip, and black patent leather pointed toe pumps with Accessories adorned the look. Makeup and hair were intentionally (and stylishly) severe, with dark smokey eyes and pin-straight hair parted in the middle at a length that covered her entire back.
Moore's outfits not only illustrate her style evolution, but also reflect the fashion climate of fall 2024. Designer brands such as Altuzarra, The Row, Loro Piana, and Bottega Veneta have incorporated vintage-inspired, ladylike suit sets. Moore leaned toward similarly tailored looks with elegant, curve-enhancing silhouettes during his press tour for The Substance.
