Jennifer Lawrence Tests Trending Colors for Fall 2024 Months Early
While everyone else is going butter yellow (Haley Bieber) and brat green (Charli XCX), Jennifer Lawrence is thinking ahead to the trending colors for fall 2024.
J. Lo went shopping in New York City over the weekend in a red-on-red outfit. She wore a puffy poplin shirt with only two buttons fastened in the middle, paired with red flared corduroy pants. Both were from her favorite brand (The Row) and featured the wine-toned, moody colors of the Fall 2024 trend. Almost a day later, she repeated the look again with a button-up shirt in a similar silhouette, but this time in black-on-navy.
Jennifer Lawrence did not stick to head-to-toe runway styling like Gucci, Caite, and Saint Laurent. Instead of adding cherry-toned shoes and a burgundy bag, she accessorized with a black Dior saddle bag and Charvet suede slippers. Hanging from one arm was a shopping tote from Steele Studios, an elite downtown spa where Lawrence had supposedly gone for a facial.
The Hunger Games star has so far spent the summer in the trends of the moment: jelly sandals here, a splash of leopard print there, and mesh flats every day in between. She's also expanding her luxury horizons with St. Agni and Tory Burch It Girl accessories, in addition to her favorite accessories on the runway from The Row, Loewe, and Alaia.
Pairing red with deep red is a bit of a departure from her recent looks, but it's not entirely unheard of. With the help of stylist Jamie Mizrahi, Jennifer Lawrence has shown that she's on top of major runway trends, from Copenhagen Fashion Week to Milan to Paris, and as Marie Claire magazine previously reported, this season heavy use of burgundy and pinot noir red. Evolving from the fire-engine tones popularized by Ferragamo under Maximilian Davis, designers are now embracing darker, moodier tones, reminiscent of red wine glasses.
Some celebrities have literally dipped their fingers into the moody fall 2024 color trends. In Los Angeles, Selena Gomez had her go-to nail artist create a custom “muted red” shade. Jennifer Lawrence was the first woman to take deep red off the runway, but she won't be the last.
