Jennifer Lawrence repeats wearing the same button-up shirt two days in a row

Millennials, traumatized by the Disney Channel's phrase “clothes repeaters,” have been taught as adults that having a set of run-of-the-mill clothes guaranteed to be top-notch is a luxury and a blessing. (Just don't wear it in front of the same people, that's my only rule.)

Some of the most fashion-savvy stars repeat the same outfit over and over again, but we no longer call it “repeating,” but instead call it a “signature look” or “aesthetic.” For example, Jennifer Lawrence.

This week, the “No Hard Feelings” actor wore the exact same outfit two days in a row when she went to New York. She was first photographed on August 11, wearing a partially buttoned poplin shirt and matching corduroy pants. She accessorized with Phoebe Philo yellow-lens sunglasses and contrasting brown suede clogs. The next day, Lawrence was again photographed in a monochrome “fit.”

Again, she wore an oversized button-up shirt and loose-fitting pants; the first look was such a success that she styled the second with the same accessories. The same black framed sunnies and cobalt blue clogs.

This fast-casual combination has become Lawrence's daily uniform this summer. So far, she has worn it in almost every color, including khaki and white, and the aforementioned red and black. She always pairs it with contrasting shoes and unbuttons a couple of buttons.

I've decided to repeat the outfit with a flex. And I will follow her example as soon as possible.
