Halle Berry shows off a near-naked sheer lace dress at “The Union” premiere.

Love it or hate it, naked dressing is not leaving the trend cycle any time soon. With summer halfway through and red carpet events in full swing, naked styling is proving to be both bold and unexpectedly functional. (Halle Berry is the latest A-lister to endorse the controversial look, wearing a sheer-on-sheer layer to Netflix's red carpet event “The Union” in Los Angeles.

On Monday, August 12, actress Halle Berry celebrated the premiere of her action comedy film at the famed Egyptian Theater. She was dressed in a sexy and sultry rout for the occasion, wearing a lacy black bodysuit with long sleeves. Berry's see-through dress featured a V-shaped open neckline and floral lace panels with contrasting cutouts and structured corset-like lines. (3]

Berry, with the help of stylist Lindsay Flores, wore a high-waisted, knee-length skirt and a midi-length skirt with a lace scalloped hem, with another see-through layer over it. She paired that lingerie look with black double-strap Mary Jane heels. She also wore Kallati round diamond earrings and a coordinating ring.

Berry's glamour at the event was kept simple as her outfit stole the spotlight. Her wavy brown hair was center-parted in a bob, and neutral makeup by Jorge Monroy gave the illusion of a bare face.

Halle Berry's latest ensemble came at the height of her near-naked dressing. In the past few years, celebrities have gone all out with controversial styling. Ever since the likes of Saint Laurent and Gucci hit the catwalk like never before, the sheer trend has been showing off lingerie wear on the red carpet and wearing lots of mesh for everyday errands, giving stars bold and seductive cues without having to take off layers completely. It's a styling hack that throws up a lot of style.

Not only do fashion's it-girls like Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber join the sheer hype. It's no surprise that Halle Berry prefers this level of racy attire; nearly two decades ago, she was playing Catwoman, so trading in skin-tight bodysuits for lots of lace is the right brand for the actress.

Berry's appearance at the premiere of “The Union” comes just days before the film's August 16 release. The Union” is the story of two former high school sweethearts living in New Jersey who reunite for a top-secret mission. Halle Berry plays Roxanne, a government spy who recruits her ex-boyfriend (previously her high school sweetheart), a construction worker played by Mark Wahlberg, for a high-risk espionage mission in Europe. The two are joined by co-stars Mike Colter, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica Degoux, Alice Lee, and Jackie Earle Haley.
