Lily Collins switches from colorful costumes in “Emily in Paris” to timeless neutrals

Lily Collins is not particularly known for her style, but her on-screen performance of “Emily in Paris” is. Emily has made a real-world splash with her high-fashion closet filled with bright colors, loud patterns, and luxury brands. Collins' outfits are more subtle, a bit preppy, and sometimes boho chic. And her wardrobe is starting to get some attention, too.

On August 13, at a photo call for Season 4 of “Emily in Paris,” which opens tomorrow (August 15), actress Collins wore a clean, head-to-toe Saint Laurent look. She began with a caramel-colored silk-blend muslin bodysuit with a plunging neckline and ruffles down the center and around the shoulders. A knee-length, form-fitting chocolate brown pencil skirt was layered over it, and a black leather belt with a gold YSL logo buckle was worn around the waist. Shiny slingback pumps matched the black and gold belt. Gold Cartier rings and Love earrings also complemented the color palette.

Collins' blunt chestnut bob hairstyle, which debuted in June, was center parted and tucked behind one ear without a strand of mess. Her makeup, a matte pinkish brown lip and bronze smokey eye, echoed the monochrome look.

It is clear that Collins is taking her off-screen style more seriously. Her outfits were put together by celebrity stylist Andrew Mukamal, who has worked with Zoe Kravitz, Margot Robbie, and Billie Eilish, among others.

“I've loved fashion ever since I could get dressed. My mother would tell me stories about how I had a particular point of view of what clothes I wanted to wear,” Collins told Coveteur in 2020, when ‘Emilie in Paris’ was in its first season. “I loved the colors and the patterns. My style has definitely evolved over the years, but fashion has always been the constant.”
