Priyanka Chopra revamps her see-through lingerie on the red carpet
Some celebrities hit the red carpet in stylish yet controversial sheer dresses. Priyanka Chopra took her lingerie-inspired, last-minute aesthetic a step further with a step-and-repeat sheer robe.
On Tuesday, August 13, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas made their first official red carpet appearance of the year (barring the much talked about Ambani wedding). The couple was spotted at the premiere of The Good Half in Beverly Hills.
At this event, actress Chopra drew inspiration from lingerie. She wore a one-shoulder black and gold gown by Dolce & Gabbana. The long-sleeved maxi dress was robe-like, tied at the waist with a black belt and featured a super high slit.
Chopra incorporated lace and lace layers into her ensemble. With the help of celebrity stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray, she paired this racy outfit with a see-through lace bodysuit, also by Dolce & Gabbana, and black high-waisted underwear.
The actress completed her see-through lingerie look with shiny black open-toe heels. She also wore a diamond-studded “Serpent” necklace and accessorized with a bunch of matching hoop earrings and rings.
Standing by her side was her husband, Nick Jonas. The singer-slash-actor wore a baggy khaki suit over a gray tank top, black leather shoes, a chain necklace, and a chrome watch.
Priyanka Chopra's bold lingerie look is not only a stark contrast to what she wore to a luxury star-studded Ambani wedding in India last month. (There she appeared in a sequined orange lehenga, a traditional Indian ankle-length skirt, and a bra-style choli designed by Tarun Tahiliani.) But Chopra's look came just days after Halle Berry surprised the “Union” red carpet with a see-through twist.
There, the actress incorporated a see-through trend with a black lace bodysuit. Like Chopra, she doubled down on the lingerie with a high-waisted, knee-hugging see-through skirt.
Of course, Chopra and Berry were not the only stars to bring nearly-naked dressing to the red carpet. This year in particular, A-listers are showcasing this controversial styling at every turn. Especially at awards ceremonies, an increasing number of stars have shed their conventional attire and dressed in items that are barely revealing.
The couple's appearance at the premiere was in support of The Good Half, a film starring Nick Jonas. He was the top poster but it was Chopra who stole the spotlight on the red carpet.
