Haley Bieber Votes for Kamala Harris in Style with Campaign Maternity T-Shirt

Haley Bieber knows the power of maternity fashion. Weeks after donning a sheer butter yellow nude dress at a baby shower, the Lorde founder is back with a new look. In a recent mirror selfie, she shows her support for Kamala Harris' presidential run with a trendy graphic T-shirt from her campaign.

On Thursday, August 15, Haley Bieber snapped a quick photo from her closet to show off her outfit, as uploaded by Vogue. Her look includes a navy blue T-shirt with “AMERICA IS AN IDEA” on the front and red and white stripes on the sleeves.

Although not much is visible below the waist, Bieber seems to have chosen the comfort route, completing the look with relaxed black pants. She also wore her brunette hair in a white nail clip, chunky gold hoop earrings, her signature “B” necklace, and a Coral Rode lip balm phone case.

Bieber's look echoes the resurgence of the graphic T-shirt trend of the 2000s (and a trend that is forever timeless), with stars like Kaia Gerber, Rihanna, and Jennifer Lopez using the shirt as a canvas to literally make a statement in Linked. Jennifer Lopez used the shirt to self-reference one of her hit songs.

The Bieber top was designed by Aurora James of Brother Bellys and is part of an exclusive designer capsule supporting Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 US presidential election in November.

The collection, titled “Designers for Democracy,” features a wide selection of hoodies, T-shirts, bags, and more for Harris. According to Vogue magazine, the collection is the result of collaborations with more than 10 American designers, including Vera Wong, Jonathan Cohen, Thom Browne, Tory Burch, and Prabal Gurung. All items are made in the U.S. and most cost less than $50.

“Vice President Harris and Governor Tim Walz are fighting for a future that strengthens democracy, protects reproductive freedom, and ensures that everyone has the opportunity to not just live, but to get ahead,” Megan Burdick, senior advisor to the Harris-Waltz campaign told Vogue magazine.

“Designers for Democracy is a group of beloved American designers who believe in that vision and are working to send Harris and Walz to the White House.”

James also discussed his contribution to the collection on Instagram, explaining the meaning behind the “AMERICA IS AN IDEA” top that Bieber wore.

“America is a beautiful, strange, rich place. America is also an idea. America is a beautiful, strange, and rich place. And whose idea she is will be voted on nationwide this November,” James wrote. He continued, “For too long, people who look like me have been made to feel that we don't belong here. But America belongs to all of us equally. And we belong to her, too. She is our home, our heart, our thoughts.”

Kamala Harris' “Designers for Democracy” collection is available for purchase now.
