Gabrielle Union chose a third path, tapping into the formula for effortless summer attire on the streets of Paris, this year's host city.

Union was photographed returning to her hotel on Sunday, August 4, in a carefree, breezy basic look that would be worn by a Parisienne enjoying a day of shopping in the Marais. The actress layered a slightly oversized button-up shirt over white straight-leg jeans and leather sandals, adding a pop of color with a cherry red handbag.

Technically, Gabrielle Union's outfit embraced the spirit of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Her color palette is reminiscent of Team USA with layers of red, white, and blue. Turning an obvious Olympic fashion collaboration into a big shirt and classic denim was a move straight off the sidewalks of the 11th arrondissement: sophisticated without being overdone, relaxed without the off-duty energy of sweatpants. In short, it embodied Parisian everyday chic.

Union-like attire is the croissant and butter of real-life fashion in the City of Light. (Fashion Week street style, while exciting in its own way, is not necessarily realistic, emphasizing designers and exaggerated silhouettes.) Still, the "Perfect Find" actress had the opportunity to show off her star-spangled banner in the Olympic arena.

On August 5, Union attended the floor finals of the women's gymnastics competition in a button-down tied over a navy exercise dress. Hers had red and white piping along the straps, a nod to the colors worn by Simone Biles and Jordan Childs when they represent Team USA. Both of these outfits won individual gold medals.
