Blake Lively Offers Western Trends and Chaps in Flower Power Outfits
Blake Lively, who has spent the past few weeks in floral fashion paying homage to Lily Bloom, the main character in It Ends With Us, has found an unexpected way to channel her latest role. Instead of her usual vibrant and explosive gown method dresses, she brings a yeehaw agenda to bouquets and flowers by way of Western trends.
On Monday, August 5, the actress spent the night in New York City promoting her film. As she walked the city's sidewalks, Lively wore a burnt orange, distorted vinyl bodysuit that had just been unveiled on the Tory Burch Fall/Winter 2024 catwalk. It featured a deep, rounded neckline and ultra-thin spaghetti straps. Over that, she layered a chunky, oversized brown knit cardigan from Stella McCartney's Resort 2025 collection.
The Blake Brown founder wore a shiny dress in with jeans, also from Stella McCartney's Resort 2025 collection. But Lively, a dresser true to the theme, couldn't go out without at least one small nod to the fictional florist she plays. Her Stella McCarthy bottoms were no ordinary denim, but incorporated a black leather chap design with white floral embroidery at the top. If the floral theme were not so strongly reflected in her recent appearances, one would think the chaps were taken straight from Christina Aguilera's wardrobe, Dirrty.
The Gossip Girl alum completed her outfit with an eclectic mix of black heeled sandals, gold statement hoops, and chunky bangles stacked on her wrists.
Blake Lively has always refreshed floral motifs in "groundbreaking" ways during her latest press tour. From beaded mini-dresses to feathery frocks, she embodies her character Lily Bloom, and as the August 9 release date approaches, Lively has been even more daring and experimental in her outfits.
Over the weekend, she stepped out in Versace light-wash pearl-studded jeans and a see-through chainmail floral top. She tied her look together in an unexpected way by showing off a pair of pink and black Versace boxer briefs.
Revealing underwear aside, Blake Lively's 2000s-inspired leather denim chaps moment was not the first and only time she donned the rising Western trend while promoting It Ends With Us. In July, Lively posted a carousel of newly released promotional images from the shoot. In that photo, she is wearing a very modern version of a Canadian tuxedo. She doubled (or tripled) the denim with a fitted blazer, flared jeans, and a bralette, all adorned with rhinestone roses.
From cowboy boots and elaborate hats to rodeo-spec jeans, the Western trend is now taking over the runways and celebrity closets. Blake Lively is the latest star to boldly take on "yee-haw," and judging by the trend's popularity, it won't be the last.
