Selena Gomez in a $2,000 blazer and $200 jeans, high-low style business casual.
Selena Gomez is one of the most booked and busy stars of the moment. When she's not filming her hit show "Only Murderers in the Building" or making red carpet and TV appearances (and that's wearing vintage Versace), she's running her popular TikTok beauty brand, Rare Beauty.
With so much to do and so many places to go, Selena Gomez has her wardrobe nailed down for when she does business. This time, she chose the perfect outfit: a blazer and jeans. But in true CEO fashion, she styled it in a high-low way.
On Tuesday, August 6, stylist Erin Walsh gave a sneak peek of Selena Gomez's high-low business casual look as she attended the Sephora Managers Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. The "high" cost part of her look came from an item you might not expect: she paired a basic black Saint Laurent T-shirt with a fitted black Chloe blazer. The Saint Laurent T-shirt was in the $500 range, and the Chloe blazer was a whopping $2,000.
Walsh seems to have taken a subtle cue from Jennifer Lopez. Perhaps inspired by Lopez's penchant for baggy, wide-leg pants, she dressed the actress and slash entrepreneur Gomez in light-wash denim jeans from Los Angeles-based label Icon Denim and cinched the waist with a black Saint Laurent leather belt cinched her waist. Most of the denim styles shown on the site are currently sold out, but similar oversized items are available for under $200.
Multi Hyphenate accessorized her look with black and white pointed pumps by Alaïa and gold jewelry by Tabayer.
Gomez's brown hair was styled into loose waves by Marissa Marino. Makeup was by Hang Vango, with subtly rosy pink cheeks and glossy nude lips. A custom "muted red" manicure by Tom Bachnik was also shown in a short clip.
"Boss babe doing boss things," Erin Walsh captioned a two-part Instagram post about Selena Gomez.
While other stars are in vacation mode in Ibiza-approved sundresses and flip-flops, Gomez has nailed her work style this summer. For example, when spotted at the 2024 Nexus Summit, actress Gomez once again represented Rare Beauty in an all-white Banana Republic midi dress. She also wore a halter dress by Australian brand Maticevski at the Rare Beauty Mental Health Summit in New York City.
Gomez knows that if anything can replace a dress, it is a workwear combo of blazer and jeans. Stars like Jennifer Lopez have recently revamped this look with sharp blazers and ultra-wide denim.
