On Tuesday, August 6, while running errands in New York City, Katie Holmes took a gamble on Adidas' next It sneaker. She was spotted out and about in her ultimate laid-back outfit, an oversized, long-sleeved white sweatshirt and olive green drawstring jogger pants, exuding a "I woke up like this" energy.

Holmes accessorized her outfit with a tan Khaite maxi tote bag, her handbag trend this year, and small black sunglasses.

Of course, shoes were the statement of her look. She folded the ankles of her sweatpants to reveal gray and white Adidas Retropie E5 sneakers. Holmes paired them with heather gray crew socks. (ICYMI: The Z generation says low ankle socks are officially labeled "outdated.")

The Dawson's Creek star ditched makeup for rainy day errands and wore her brunette hair in a messy high bun.

Sneakers are by far Holmes' forte in the shoe world.
