Blake Lively flaunts naked dress trend in champagne lace midi
Blake Lively is well-known for being her own stylist, but these days, dressing naked has become one of the actress's favorite fashion tricks. Last month, Lively wore $9,000 embroidered Valentino jeans that exposed her entire leg through carefully placed cutouts. The month before that, she appeared in a see-through dress embellished with white bridal pearls. And last night, she found another way to interpret the trend. [The champagne-beige Michael Kors dress is a floral lace slip with spaghetti straps. The lingerie-like shade almost blended with Lively's skin tone, and the light caramel-colored guest of residence cardigan layered over top matched her long "blonde" hair. At first glance, Lively appeared nude.
A stack of chunky gold rings and gold bangles from Brent Neal Jewelry complemented her bronzed glow. The actress added subtle color with pointed-toe ice blue Christian Louboutin pumps. In typical Blake Lively fashion, she kept her hair simple with beachy waves and a deep side part. Her glossy pink lips and glowing skin were equally natural.
The audience may have first noticed the almost naked shade of her dress, but Lively wanted to draw all the attention to her pumps. 'The flower stems on these heels are insane. Wish I had a better photo," she wrote in her Instagram caption, accompanied by a photo by Guy Arosch.
As summer heats up, so does the naked dressing phenomenon. This season, sheer skirts are in celebrities' closets, with Dakota Johnson wearing a sheer canary yellow midi from Gucci's Cruise 2025 collection and Rihanna rocking a gorgeous black skirt from Dior's Spring 2003 archives. The trend has taken hold. Even Katie Holmes put her own spin on sheer by opting for a sophisticated sheer lace skirt from Chanel. Meanwhile, as WWD reported, YSL's business boomed after Bella Hadid wore one of the brand's bodice-baring naked dresses on the Cannes red carpet in May, generating $7.2 million in media impact value (MIV).
But back to Blake. Lively is taking more style risks this year. She recently donned a maximalist Chanel suit in shades of turquoise, hot pink, and yellow, covered in graffitied double C logos and painterly flowers. And just last week, she supported husband Ryan Reynolds at the premiere of "Deadpool & Wolverine," wearing a superhero-inspired, ruby-red catsuit custom-made by Versace.
