Nicole Kidman coordinates red carpet matching set with heels under $75
Matching sets have been in vogue for years as a convenient and stylish way to create a cohesive look. The styles range from fast fashion like Zara, to mid-range brands like Reformation, to luxury brands like Chanel. Not surprisingly, the matching set trend is now dominating summer collections across retailers. And now celebrities are showing off their minimalist summer outfits on the red carpet.
On July 29, Nicole Kidman attended the Omega House Paris event in a crisp white gabardine set by Valentino. The boxy short-sleeved crop top featured a high-waisted poodle skirt with a small gold "V" hardware logo on the pocket and the same "V" logo on the neckline. Completing the actress's look were $73 Charles & Keith shiny white slingback pumps with red rose-shaped pinwheels. Her only accessory was a simple silver Omega watch with a midnight blue dial. (Kidman has been an Omega ambassador since 2005.)
Kidman is not the first star to add a formal spin to the matching set trend. Scarlett Johansson attended the New York premiere of her latest film, Fly Me to the Moon, earlier this month in a pale mauve and white gingham skirt set with a floor-length pencil skirt and high-neck sleeveless crop top.
Yesterday's look fits perfectly into Kidman's current red carpet wardrobe, which consists of a black, white, and cream color palette and subtle skin exposure. Just last month, she walked the carpet at the premiere of her new Netflix movie, "A Family Affair," wearing a nude, form-fitting custom Gucci gown made of skin-colored silk.
This time, Kidman brought her daughter, Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban, to the red carpet. Kidman-Urban wore a mini tailored vest and a matching gray skirt crop top. Like her mother, she resembles her daughter.
