Blake Lively's micro floral manicure will convince you to try the nail sticker trend
Roses are red, violets are blue, and Blake Lively's floral nails are neither. Instead, the Gossip Girl star debuted a "micro floral manicure" that was much more understated and a nod to two huge summer nail trends.
On Wednesday, July 31, Lively attended a press event for Target-exclusive hair brand Blake Brown Beauty in a beaded Dauphinette mini dress and matching overcoat. But turn to her manicure and you'll find the prettiest, daintiest, most detailed manicure of the season.
Working with nail artist Elle Gerstein, the actress had opaque pink-white nails that perfectly matched the bubble bath nail trend. Celebrity nail artist Jin Sun Choi previously told Marie Claire, "It's a natural look that works for any style, occasion, age, or skin tone."
What made the set summer chic, however, were the designs painted over pale pink-white summer nail colors. Gerstein painted a "microfloral" bouquet on each nail. Green flicks were used for the abstract accent leaves, while purple, pink, and gold flakes were used for the petals. Freehanding this design is no easy task (Gerstein is a pro, after all), but you can create this look at home by pulling out a few polish-friendly stickers. [Just look at Kylie Jenner's insect manicure or Haley Bieber's Farmer's Market manicure. The trick to perfection is to let the base coat dry completely before securing the seal with tweezers and sealing it with a top coat of nail polish.
If you're feeling inspired to recreate Lively's micro floral manicure this summer, I've put together everything you need to get the job done, ahead of time.
