Kendall Jenner makes Team USA in Olympic Ralph Lauren Racing Jacket and Timeless Denim Trend
Is there still room on the equestrian roster for the Paris Olympics? High-profile equestrian athlete Kendall Jenner is ready to compete, at least according to her Team USA-approved Ralph Lauren outfit.
Kendall Jenner joined hundreds of fans at the women's all-around gymnastics final on Thursday, August 1, in Paris, France. She wore a red, white, and blue Ralph Lauren racing jacket and a coordinating baseball cap. Instead of going full Olympian with trendy athletic shorts and running shoes, she styled her gear with jeans (probably from her favorite denim brand, Khaite) and black loafers from The Row.
Kendall Jenner stopped by one of the most anticipated events of the week: the individual all-around performance by Simone Biles and Suni Lee. The competition became so intense that Jenner even took off her jacket to reveal the bottom of her white T-shirt. In the end, Biles won the gold medal and Lee the bronze.
The model was just one of many fans who were able to channel their inner sports star this summer with several Olympic fashion collaborations. Her patchwork jacket comes from Ralph Lauren's Team USA collection, which was released just before the start of the Olympics. A traditional American brand, Ralph Lauren has designed the U.S. opening and closing ceremony kits for the past nine Games, and this year's collection referenced key runway trends (such as racing jackets) and all-time classics (such as denim and suits).
Jenner modeled for the Vogue World fashion show just a few weeks ago and traveled to Paris to date her boyfriend, Bud Bunny, at the Louvre, so don't be surprised if you see her in the Olympic stands. Kendall Jenner is a longtime equestrian athlete, and in a past episode of "The Kardashians," she joked that her "athleticism is beyond normal limits." Her mother, Caitlyn Jenner, won a gold medal in the decathlon at the 1976 Olympics.
That doesn't mean she'll soon be in full sporty spice. Jenner's sleek black loafers and timeless straight-leg jeans are the hardest working, most versatile teammates in her wardrobe. If Kendall Jenner is going to make more appearances during the Olympics, trust that she will mix the classic neutral colors she loves with her support for Team USA.
