Meghan Markle embodies quiet luxury in a Ralph Lauren linen set and $13,400 Cartier necklace

Meghan Markle and stylist Jamie Mizrahi chose from several directions for the Duchess' CBS interview. Because her television appearances are so rare, the outfits she wears say it all. Ultimately they went for quiet luxury, with the help of a Ralph Lauren set, Markle's favorite Cartier necklace, and the longtime royal nail trend.

In a clip from a forthcoming conversation with husband Prince Harry and journalist Jane Pauley for CBS Sunday Morning, Meghan Markle appeared at what appeared to be her home in Montecito, California, wearing a blush-toned shirt with some buttons undone. The sleeves were casually tucked up above the elbow, and the hem was tucked into a pair of coordinating pleated pants. The royal style blog What Meghan Wore revealed that the set was linen-coordinated by American luxury brand Ralph Lauren.

The Duchess of Sussex's sophisticated, yet casual energy extended to her beauty beats and gold jewelry clutter. She curled her hair into soft waves and applied pale pink blush to her cheeks. Her fingertips glistened with a wisp of pink nail polish, a reference to the bubble bath nail polish trend often worn by the royal family.

Her jewelry is luxurious for a change. A close-up shows the "Suits" star wearing Cartier's Juste un Clou necklace. With a curved claw design, it is currently priced at $13,400, and according to What Meghan Wore, she coordinated this megawatt piece with a Cartier bangle bracelet and watch.

The full interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will air on Sunday, August 4. A short clip of their conversation shows the two discussing cyber bullying and efforts to protect their children, Archie and Lilibet, from harassment. Since this is a serious topic, it is appropriate to dress to reflect the tone - hence Markle's decision to wear a neutral, suit-like set and only a few pieces of jewelry.

Meghan Markle's style sightings have been rare since she returned from a three-day tour in Nigeria in May. Most recently, she appeared with Prince Harry at the 2024 ESPY Awards in a white halter dress by Oscar de la Renta. A few days later, she was photographed near her home in jeans and a Lady Dior bag inspired by Princess Diana.

Throughout her time in the spotlight, Markle has used her style to convey a special message and pay tribute to her surroundings while sticking to a sophisticated, somewhat minimalist palette. This year, she hired stylist Jamie Mizrahi, reportedly to further elevate her wardrobe while breaking away from the strict dress code of the current royalty.

Since their partnership began, she has tried everything from open-back St. Agni dresses to vibrant pieces that reflect her Nigerian heritage. More examples of their affinity for expressing the moment through clothing are to come: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be visiting Colombia for a few days in mid-August.
