Meghan Markle still wears the classic royal nail polish trend
I live for the Meghan Markle beauty moments. Whether it's her hair in a classic bun or the appearance of an unusual red lipstick, the beauty editor in me takes great pleasure in learning about the former royal's hair and makeup products. What excites me most, however, is when I zoom in on her manicure. The Duchess of Sussex is not afraid to opt for trendy shades and designs, such as French manicures (one of the biggest nail trends of the summer) and jet-black polish.
Such was the case with Meghan Markle's recent nail color, which marked a return to a longstanding royal nail trend: on Thursday, August 1, the mother of two appeared in a video interview on CBS Sunday Morning to discuss cyber bullying. For this on-air appearance with Prince Harry, Markle painted her nails a pale pink that perfectly matched her blush-colored Ralph Lauren linen set.
The nude color and slightly pink summer nails are reminiscent of the bubble bath manicure that has been a favorite of the royal family for decades. The combination of muddy pink and white nail polish creates a sleek and sophisticated look. And that is precisely why it is a favorite of Princess Kate and Queen Elizabeth II.
"When the late Queen Elizabeth was alive, she favored pale pink nail polish, and following the example she set, both Kate and Princess Meghan trended in pale pink nail polish during her lifetime," said former Marie Claire Senior Celebrity and Royal Editor, Rachel Burchfield previously explained." A royal favorite was pinky white nails.
Markle is also known to gravitate toward certain colors in royal-favorite trends. Case in point: she wore two coats of Negligee on CND's Unmasked on her 2018 wedding day. Her current nail color looks a bit darker, but I have some suspicions about that polish. My predictions are from the following.
