Zendaya's Olympic manicure elevates athlete-approved bubble bath nail trend

For many, the 2024 Paris Olympics are about which team will set the stage best for success. But as a beauty editor, I am naturally more concerned with the Olympic nail art that will appear in Paris, and after the “Prelude to the Olympics” party on July 25, I am 100% certain that Zendaya has solidified the bubble bath nail art trend as the most popular nail color for the Olympics. I am 100% convinced that Zendaya has solidified it as the most popular nail color for the Olympics.

Euphoria actress Zendaya came to Paris from London for the July 25 celebration hosted by Louis Vuitton. Styled by longtime image architect Lo Roach, Zendaya wore a beaded Louis Vuitton gown with a mini box bag. Her nails, previously set in maroon nail polish, were filed into structured squares and polished in a pinky-white shade with the cloudy trademark of bubble bath manicure, one of the biggest nail trends of the summer.

“Bubble bath manicures are the answer to the question of how ‘pretty girls’ will do their nails in 2024,” celebrity nail artist Rita Remark previously told Marie Claire. Sheer, sophisticated beauty is why Meghan Markle, Princess Kate, and the entire USA Gymnastics team endorse this look.

According to the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Official Rules & Policy, nails must be a neutral color so as not to distract the judges' attention. This is part of the reason why Sunisa Lee's Olympic logo manicure was based on white. It also explains her choice of color for the background of her current collaboration with KISS. The press-on pinky-white shade is simple yet sophisticated and remarkably similar to the shade of Zendaya's hands.

Simone Biles' nails (she opted for a classic French manicure) and Jordan Childs' hands (although she added a bit of blue to the tips) also incorporate similar touches to this subtle trend. Buy my favorite polish to get in on the bubble bath nail polish trend, which is arguably the most popular shade at the Olympics.
