Celine Dion embraces retro tracksuit trend ahead of Olympics

Celine Dion will perform tonight at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. But before Dion sang (fingers crossed) high with “It's All Coming Back to Me Now,” the singer showed off a retro trend. Last night at the “Prelude to the Olympics” party, Dion opted for a sporty Dior outfit.

Specifically, she wore an ultra-oversized logoed Dior tracksuit with a V-neck anorak and matching fluffy jogger pants in navy and cream taffeta jacquard printed with the house's signature monogram and ” Christian Dior” with racing stripes. She finished the look with cool white sneakers and black square cat eye sunglasses.

Celine Dion doesn't do “casual” and is no stranger to big clothes, sporty styles, and logomaniacal patterns; in 2020, two years before she was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome and became somewhat reclusive, much of Dion's street style was dominated by neon colors, technical was incorporating neon colors, technical fabrics, huge coats, and yes, designer logos. She was working with stylist Lo Roach at the time.

Yesterday's return was a departure from the well-tailored Parisian wardrobe she showed off while in the French capital earlier this week. It was an elegant black pleated midi dress with a casual collar and short puff sleeves. She was also photographed wearing a loose-fitting black blazer over a crisp white button-up with exaggerated lapels.

Tonight, Dion will make her long-awaited return to the stage, singing alongside Lady Gaga. Chart-topper Dion was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that causes severe and prolonged muscle spasms, and has kept him from performing since 2022. In Dion's documentary film, I Am: Céline Dion, she says, “I would crawl back on stage.” And she has been true to her word. The singer is also slated to begin a new Las Vegas residency at Resorts World later this year or early next year.
