Bella Hadid puts a Horse Girl spin on summer eyelet lace

2024 is hardly Bella Hadid's first summer trend rodeo. This year, the model and founder of Orêbella has mastered all of the biggest looks of the moment, from slinky vintage slip dresses to western horse girls and, more recently, the eyelet lace trend, all with something special of her own.

On Sunday, July 7, Hadid gave followers a glimpse of her down-to-earth weekend style. In a selfie taken from the front seat of her car, Hadid wears an eyelet lace dress with a tie at the bodice and slightly ruffled straps. Upon closer inspection, the dress looks very similar to the eyelet dress from the recently restocked Gap x Dôen collaboration. (3]

Some styles of eyelet lace dresses are less common in other summer wardrobes. But Hadid, as Marie Claire reported last week, is firmly back in her equestrian days and couldn't help but add a twist to the corral dress code. Specifically, she draped a red paisley bandana over her shoulders.

Sweet, understated eyelet lace is back as a summer trend in collections, from the Spring 2024 runways to the racks at the nearest shopping mall. Last week, Marc Jacobs presented his Fall 2024 collection at the New York Public Library, which featured voluminous, sculptural dresses with eyelet skirts that seemed to toss in the breeze.

No wonder Bella Hadid incorporated this picnic-inspired fabric into her warm-weather closet. The delicate floral embroidery and tiered skirt would look right at home paired with cowboy boots in the spacious Texas estate the model recently moved to. It's also a family trend: Gigi Hadid spent early summer in her own white eyelet skirt, but paired it with urban accessories like Adidas sambas.

Hadid's summer dress streak did not end with her affordable Gap pieces. In another snap, Hadid showed off a lace and satin slip dress from Frankies Bikini. This time, she omitted the bandana styling and added some gold jewelry.

Hadid might have added a rodeo touch to the dress with a bandana and appropriate boots, but such items would not make it into the ring. Instead, as she showed off in a post to her Instagram feed, Hadid will be barrel racing in a paisley-print button-down shirt, boot-cut jeans, and cowboy boots. One accessory not pictured: "In her caption, she thanked photographers Paula Meyer and Bailey Ford for capturing her in action.

This is Horsegirl style.
