Why Selma Blair visited Schiaparelli in a tie with braided blond hair
Hair makes the outfit. An updo complements a backless dress, and a pin-straight high ponytail looks great with a skin-tight dress. But if you are Selma Blair, your hair is literally the outfit itself. Case in point: Actress Selma Blair appeared at the Schiaparelli Couture fashion show in Paris wearing a tie made of braided platinum blonde hair.
Yes, that's right. The "Cruel Intentions" star secured a one-foot-long triple braid to the top of a stark white button-down, making it the focal point of her front row outfit. This innovative use of extensions was the brainchild of Schiaparelli Creative Director Daniel Rosebery. Blair's oversized suit and matching hair-made tie were unveiled a few weeks ago at the Fall 2025 runway presentation in March.
However, the actor took this unique accessory a step further, opting to match her own hair with the outfit's main accessory. London-based hairstylist Paul Jones perfected the color match and mimicked the design of Blair's back tie. Hair lengthened with a large amount of extensions was secured in three braids in a messy fashion. Her bangs were slightly curled to frame her face.
Jones worked with Blair throughout Paris Couture Week, styling her bleached hair into long beachy curls for AMI Alexandre Matussi's fashion show and her 52nd birthday celebration.
The actress' makeup, done by Kelly Cornwell, was done in smoky browns and emphasized her eyes. Her lips were painted a neutral pinky-peach color, and her skin was accented with blush and kept fairly subtle.
Once ushered inside, Blair took a front row seat flanked by Kylie Jenner and Anitta. The former was wearing a sparkly pink corset gown and the latter a black and white dress. Now, if only we could figure out what this trio was chatting about.
