Gigi Hadid transforms from a casual halter top and jeans to the most surreal naked dress

From Kylie Jenner's Barbie pink corset dress at Schiaparelli to Jennifer Lopez's khaki dress and opera gloves at Dior Couture, celebrities brought their most look-at-me street style to descended on Paris for Couture Week. But so far, it's Gigi Hadid whose Parisian wardrobe is the widest.

Hadid landed in the City of Light over the weekend and kicked off her schedule with a birthday celebration for her brother Anwar Hadid and a low-key dinner "fit." She wore a pink halter top with baggy jeans fastened with a Miu Miu belt. She layered sophisticated black accessories that showed off her Parisian side, including Gentle Monster sunglasses, Miu Miu belted kitten heels, and a black, strong-shouldered overcoat.

That first outfit, from the juxtaposition of baggy jeans and sharp heels to the on-trend top, was pulled straight from the models-off-duty playbook (halters from labels like With Jéan and Rouje were worn by Dua Lipa, Emily Latakowski, and Kendall Jenner's wardrobes recently). But anyone who thinks that's the extent of Hadid's Parisian couture wardrobe will need to think again.

On Sunday, June 23, Hadid walked in one look (a Balmain gown) and rode down the runway in another (a Hermès riding outfit) at the Vogue World runway show. She celebrated her two laps down the catwalk at the event's after-party, wearing a jeans and halter top, an outfit that couldn't have been better.

Styled by Mimi Cattrell, Hadid changed into a sparkling surrealist naked dress by Balmain. Most naked dresses, from the Grammys to the Cannes red carpet, are made of transparent fabrics to artfully showcase what the celebrity is wearing underneath. This Naked Dress took a different tact, using hundreds of shimmering blue and indigo embellishments to create a trompe l'oeil effect of a topless torso and exaggerated hip denim skirt.

Two things were consistent from look to look: Hadid's rounded Gentle Monster sunglasses and black pointed-toe pumps. Classic pieces go with any outfit, even at night.

Hadid's first look was true to her typical personal style. Whether wearing a dress over jeans or pairing anti-trendy summer essentials like jean shorts and a bikini top, she is a pro at using thoughtful layering to create carefree outfits. That makes her second look all the more exciting: what better time than Fashion Week to play with optical illusion dresses?

The Paris Couture show will run through Thursday, June 27.
