Read MoreToday, Balenciaga returned to Paris Haute Couture Week to present its highly anticipated runway collection at Avenue Georges V in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.
The Maison's 53rd couture show was a showstopper in itself. Creative Director Demna continued her subversive vision for the brand, this time presenting Demna-inspired streetwear that combined underground subcultures (goth, skaters, metalheads) with glamour. The final 39 looks on the glossy runway featured oversized graphic T-shirts and baggy pants topped with oversized headwear and butterfly masks. The show notes say it was "destined to be worn only once" and was a tulle gown made of 47 meters of black nylon that "takes about 30 minutes to make and 30 seconds to melt."
Such an event requires not only a trusted team backstage, but also a star-studded guest list up front to bring the entire showcase together. The show was attended by A-listers and brand ambassadors from all walks of life, from pop stars to actors, most of whom opted for the usual Balenciaga dress code of all-black uniforms.
Upon arrival, Katy Perry and Camille Rowe appeared nearly topless, while Nicole Kidman turned heads in a rhinestone-studded maxi dress. Boxy blazers and pantyhose were also all the rage, worn by Ashley Graham and Teyana Taylor, among others.
Some celebrities moved away from monochrome notes. Instead, Maya Rudolph opted for a fresh blue frock, while Naomi Watts chose a sculptural white midi set for the occasion. Balenciaga's front row did not disappoint, to say the least.
Below are the best dressed for Balenciaga's Fall 2024 couture show.
