Rihanna's natural curls are the ultimate advertisement for Fenty Hair.
Rihanna is no stranger to the beauty game and has long been making a splash with her show-stopping looks and her comprehensive makeup and skincare brand, Fenty Beauty. Recently, she announced the impending arrival of Fenty Hair, which promises healthy, high-performance products for all hair types and curl patterns
.
Prior to the official launch of her new venture on June 13, the mother of two made a rare appearance in New York City to show off her natural curls. If it was a promotion for Fenty Hair, it was compelling: the cropped, curly look incorporated blonde highlights in the same shade that Lili has been wearing lately from bangs to braids, but with a hint of brown peeking through.
Lili is often pictured with hair extensions and sleek silk pressings, but this time her short brown and blonde hair was naturally curly. This hairdo coincided with the Fenty Hair video launch. In the short clip, Rihanna emphasized that the brand focuses on textured hair and that it was inspired by her own hair care journey.
"I've had almost every texture, color, and length, from braids to braided to natural," the artist and entrepreneur wrote in the caption of the launch video. 'It's time to play with style and go strong.'
By showing off the curls, Rihanna presumably intended to look voluminous and well-rounded and demonstrate the effectiveness of her new line of hair products. The move also hit back at online haters who criticized Fenty Hair's promotional images on Instagram and commented that the star should not have worn a wig to promote the hair care line advertised for curls.
Rihanna has sent mixed messages to fans through her street style. Last Friday (June 7), a "I'm retiring" T-shirt dress by Conor Ives had the Internet speculating that the music phase of her career was indeed over. (So far, she has made no announcement either confirming or denying the rumor.)
Regardless of her latest intentions, Rihanna's weekend look attracted attention as usual, and maybe inspired more followers to go natural this summer. They will at least have the product to do so when Fenty Hair finally arrives on June 13.
