Floral Fragrance won the Fragrance of the Year Award at the Fragrance Foundation Awards in New York City on Wednesday 6/5.

This title was awarded only to newly launched fragrances during the year and was not given lightly. The Fragrance Foundation, which annually brings together a team of beauty experts and professional perfumers to sample the fragrances of more than 150 brands, selects only 1 to win the women's luxury department.

The award was no big surprise to the industry insiders sitting in the room. Since its launch in 2023, Valentino's Donna Born in Roma Intense, with its floral Meets amber scent, has become both an editor's favorite fragrance and a fan favorite. Case in point: It has over 2,000 five-star reviews on both Sephora and Nordstrom. Reviewers dubbed it "absolutely unattractive" and commented on its bold, refreshing and unique composition.

One perfume obsession points out that it lasts more than six hours. "It's cozy and sensual, very feminine, strong, but not overwhelming. In my opinion, the perfect vanilla scent, absolutely must-have," they write in Sephora. More than 60,000 "hearts" on the product backed up reviewers.
