Anya Taylor - The sculptural Cannes Updo of Pleasure is against gravity

Anya Taylor-Joy has a fairly defined beauty look: pin straight hair, complemented by cat eyes and blue-red lipstick. It's a reliable official, but the Cannes Film Festival is the time to try out a new beauty look — and that's clearly what the actress is trying to do. For "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga Red Carpet," the Dior Ambassador arrived wearing a complex and extended padded updo, in stark contrast to her standard style.

It's no secret that Taylor-Joy's natural hair is long. On any day, it sits roughly at the length of the hips. Still, star hairstylist Gregory Russell made sure to smooth out the 1-pound extension and less

straight back to perform a sturdy S-shaped chignon fastened to the crown of Queen's Gambit lead's head, and the updo was firmly screwed into 3 curves to keep the hair out of place. It is fixed at the nape of the neck. The head of such heavy hair requires abundant hairspray - and just as much balance.

The appearance of the remaining beauty of Taylor-Joy remains classic. Make-up artist Georgie Eisdell leaned into the actress's dependable aesthetics. Luckily for us, she took to Instagram and shared all the makeup products that made it to the client's face.

Jet-black wings are courtesy of Dior's Diorshow Stylo Eyeliner. The perfect red lips are thanks to Dior's Dior Rouge, which looks like a shade Midnight 909. Her soft pink smoky eyes are a handy piece of shade nude dress Diorshow5Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow palette.

Not only is Taylor-Joy's beauty appearance worth mentioning. Naomi Campbell also made her way onto the red carpet, with what appeared to be a slight red shade on her brushed-out curls. The hair of the model's statement is balanced by a softer makeup that plays in the family of Pinky brown.

It may just be the second day of the festival, but if today's red carpet is any sign, much of Cannes's beauty is worth destroying. Stay tuned.
