Everything we Know about Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's new Reality Show
"It's hot.For the first time in nearly two decades, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are set to star in the reality show. Fashion icons of the 2000s and legendary socialites return to screens after 17 years when their hit Simple Life went off the air in 2007 following its five-season run.
Fans began to speculate that Hilton and Richie were doing something in early May when they posted a throwback photo of themselves on instagram with the long-standing nickname in the caption, writing, "From Day 1:Sill and Bill."A few weeks later, they officially confirmed that the new project was in the works when they posted a trailer featuring a static screen on their old TV. "A new era. The same Besties," they wrote in the caption, teasing that their new show "is coming soon to Peacock."
Fans of Hilton, Ritchie, and Simple Life should certainly get excited — but their new Peacock Show breaks down everything they need to know about their new project, as their classic 00s reality duo will be back on screen soon.
Deadline reports that Peacock has confirmed that Hilton and Richie's upcoming show is not Simple Life2.0, but there are no specific details about the series at this time. That said, no release date has been announced.
"It's been 20 years since Paris and I worked together. We wanted to celebrate it. I can't tell you much now, but we've worked together to create something very special and exciting," Richie told Good Morning America on the 15th.
Deadline also states that "more information will come soon," so I guess the episode will premiere later this summer or in the fall.
Without a formal announcement, it's all speculated what would happen to Hilton and Richie's follow-up to The Simple Life. Given that they made fun of the BFF's "new era," it seems likely that the show will have a completely different concept from their aughties hits.
As reality show devotees and fans of '00s pop culture REMEMBER, THE ORIGINAL show, WHICH debuted on FOX IN 2003, turned THE network into AN E-show that saw them participate IN physical labor OUTSIDE THE COMFORT ZONE.
Both socialites/entrepreneurs have since starred in their reality shows Post-Simple Life. Ritchie starred in the short-lived Candidly Nicole from 2014 to 2015, but it was certainly a comedic, scripted bent. Hilton, on the other hand, hosts everything from a contest series (my new BFF at Paris Hilton) to a cooking show (Paris and Cooking) to a more candid show about her life (Paris of Love).
Given their television history, I think their upcoming series will put them in a completely different scenario and try something new together.
Hilton and Ritchie's new reality show will be streamed on NBC's streaming platform Peacock. Because it is streamed, a subscription is required to adjust. There are some special offers for streamers, but the most common premium plan is available at month5.99/month and the ad-free Premium plus option is available at month11.99/month.
The Simple Life is currently not available to stream, but you can rent and buy individual episodes and full seasons on Prime Video and Apple TV+. Once our favorite socialite's new show debuts on Peacock, the platform will get a license to stream the classic 00s reality show, so fans can tune into the original series while watching the new series.
