Selena Gomez changes outfits between pink for "Legally Blonde" and black for "The Matrix".

From shooting a music video in Paris in February to walking the streets of New York City this weekend, Selena Gomez's uniforms have been shifting to all black (with the occasional ribbon). Still, just because she's embraced an edgier aesthetic doesn't mean the founder of Rare Beauty is abandoning her colorful side, as evidenced by her weekend outfit changes.

On Sunday, April 7, the 31-year-old opted for toe-to-toe black as she dined at Carbon. The "Love On" singer paired a long trench coat in Hertha's Matrix-inspired leather with a matching grayish-black corset.

Gomez styled her monotone street-style outfit with her trusty black boots and a leather bag slung over her shoulder. He also wore (somewhat) inconspicuous colored frames for the occasion.

Gomez's late-night carbon run was not her only appearance over the weekend, but it was a 180-degree departure from her Saturday night attire.

Gomez, the "Only Murderers in the Building" actress, proved she also has a penchant for regal blonde pink when she celebrated the launch of Rare Beauty's new blush collection at Studio 525 in Manhattan on April 6. For the event, Gomez wore a button-up Versace midi dress.

She paired the bubblegum pink dress with a baby pink wool long coat from Staud's. Pointed Versace pin heels with bows and shiny pendants on the toes completed her look.

Whereas Gomez's leather trench was a purely personal style play, her Elle Woods pink moment was more of a business move. Her makeup label, Rare Beauty, has become best known for its pigmented liquid blush since its launch in 2020. For her Saturday night party, the founder seemed to coordinate with TikTok-approved products.

As Gomez leans into her role as founder and entrepreneur, she has also started a new fashion chapter with stylist Erin Walsh; the two began working together in March, when Walsh wore Gomez's Oscar de la Renta black ribboned mini dress with a black Oscar de la Renta bow. Walsh has yet to confirm all the credits for her new client's all-black look, but fans at least know that she is helping Gomez embrace a more dramatic outfit change.

At the same time, Gomez is embracing her new relationship with makeup. 'I used to wear makeup to look older or to look like everybody else,' she said in an interview last week. 'Now I enjoy doing my friends' makeup and my own. I want to accentuate my features, not hide them."

She added, "I want to look like my friends, not like other people.
