Sabrina Carpenter Teases Coachella Performance in Victoria's Secret Lingerie
Ahead of her Coachella debut, Sabrina Carpenter took to Instagram to unveil her performance style to her followers: posing in front of a poster for the 1982 film "Manhattan Baby," the 24-year-old rising pop star wore a slinky blue billboard She wore a slinky blue lingerie number that looked almost identical to the slip pictured on the
But the point to note here is not that Carpenter is pictured in "near-naked" lingerie. The look itself is a vintage Victoria's Secret piece that first appeared on the runway in 1997, before Carpenter existed in this world (she was born in 1999). (She was born in 1999.)
The glacier-blue see-through slip features a lace-trimmed bra that is seamlessly sewn in with the rest of the dress. Underneath the see-through fabric is an undergarment embroidered with the same floral-like pattern as the bra. [The Victoria's Secret dress worn by Carpenter looks not a bit different from her debut. Carpenter's new stylist, Jared Ellner, confirmed the archival pull in his Instagram post.
As for her glamour, the singer opted for a lightly tousled hairstyle and rosy makeup featuring a saturated pink blush, subtle nuances of shimmering highlighter, and a glossy lip.
Carpenter's fans will notice that this is not the star's first lingerie dressing. In fact, Carpenter seems to have an affinity for corseted dresses and teddy tops, many of which she has worn on stage at her own performances and at the opening of Taylor Swift's Eras tour.
During her Eras tour last summer at Foro Sol in Mexico City, the pop star danced around the stage in a custom-made Frolov heart-cut mini-dress with bright silver embellishments. Other pieces in the "Feathers" singer's onstage wardrobe include custom-made pieces from Fancy Club, Versace, and Oscar de la Renta, often inspired by glittering decorations and lingerie.
In an interview with W Magazine about the recent Skims campaign, Carpenter explains that her fashion choices are rooted in pure audacity: "I remember someone saying to me, 'You know what? It was something like, 'Honey, you should always leave the house with the intention of running into your ex-girlfriend. ' Since that day, I've followed that advice."[13
