Stars went out to admire the sun during the April 8 eclipse. Reese Witherspoon wore a fluffy turquoise blue robe jacket. Rohde was dressed in neon yellow. But few did eclipse fashion like Kaia Gerber and her series of 90s-inspired spring outfits.

The model was spotted in New York City looking up at the sky through paper eclipse glasses. Gerber's rectangular shade of blue matched well with her casual yet prestigious "grout fit" (i.e., all-gray outfit). She paired a light gray boat-neck long-sleeved cropped T-shirt with a mid-rise, midi-length dark gray pencil skirt. Gerber completed the look with silver satin kitten heels and a shiny gold Cartier Panthère watch over her sleeves.

Later that evening, as the sun went down and the eclipse ended, Garber changed into something a little brighter. As a guest on "The Tonight Show" starring Jimmy Fallon, she wore a strapless periwinkle midi dress.

Gerber also kept her accessories and styling simple, with shiny gold earrings peeking out from her lightly teased hair. For makeup, she wore a glossy brown lip and brushed delicate light blue eyeshadow into the corners of her eyes.

Gerber has been showing off her impeccable off-street style in recent weeks, wearing oversized trench coats and soccer shoes as city shoes. For the most part, Garber's street style is firmly rooted in the present, with sambas, yoga pants, Birkenstocks, and designer handbags of the moment, but yesterday's wardrobe was a bit retro. Her eclipse-watching look was worthy of a '90s supermodel (her mother is Cindy Crawford), while her late-night look reminded me of a pale purple Miss Congeniality dress circa 2000.
