Katie Holmes is switching things up for spring. From camel coats to chunky sneakers and XXL tote bags, the actress' wardrobe has stuck to key silhouettes over the past few months.

But with the new season upon us, Holmes has made some subtle changes to her closet. These include a lot of denim, a top trend for spring 2024; on April 9, she wore a tailored, matching denim set, updating her old-school Canadian tuxedo to something sharp and sophisticated.

Holmes was all smiles as she enjoyed the sunny day in New York. She was photographed in a Banana Republic dark wash denim look, which featured a button-up sleeveless vest, wide-leg jean pants, and a skinny gold belt cinched at the waist.

She layered a dainty gold necklace and completed the look with square-toe black loafers.

Holmes' denim-on-denim look followed the jeans-based outfit she wore just a few weeks earlier.

In March, the actress went to see Alan Cumming's cabaret show in Manhattan, where she added flair to her all-black outfit with a studded, oversized denim trench coat. Her accessory of the day was, of course, a Mansur Gavriel tote bag.

Holmes seems to be embracing this year's top trending styles more than ever. For example, the denim-on-denim trend stood out in the spring collection, with Alaia, Kite, and other high-end designers endorsing the look. Holmes' latest getup may be a case of taking inspiration from the runway, but in addition to staying true to her personal tastes, she does so in a way that makes street style easy to replicate.
