Katy Perry has come a long way since "Daisy Duke, Bikini on Top." Last night at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in Hollywood, the singer wore a glamorous version of this iconic line from "California Girls." Instead of denim cutoffs, Perry opted for a glittery black fishnet cover-up dress.

Underneath the net, she wore a basic black bikini with a triangle top and low rise bottom. Perry completed the look with black thigh-high leather heeled boots by Kaite and nearly opaque Acne Studios sunglasses.

Perry's longtime stylist, Tatiana Waterford, assembled a look appropriate for either the red carpet or a special pool party where no one would actually go in the water. (For the latter, she recommends replacing boots with sandals. ) Her deployment of the "wrong shoe theory" is red carpet-friendly. Her relaxed, beachy waves underscored the vacation-appropriate point.

Naked dressing is everything in 2024, and Perry is not the first to try this trend. At Vanity Fair's Oscars after-party, stars like Florence Pugh and Anitta let their nipples loose in translucent sets by Simone Rocha and see-through gowns by Fendi, respectively.

Perry is known for her outlandish style and has literally been trying to expose more of herself. Last month, she wore a red corset and skirt set, loosely laced at the back and revealing a black thong.
