Mango's Posh Collaboration with Victoria Beckham
Victoria Beckham is known for her sophisticated, feminine designs and posh history, so to speak. Now, the fashion designer, makeup mogul, and former Spice Girl is showcasing her talents in a limited-time, affordable collaboration with popular Spanish fashion brand Mango.
Beckham's capsule collection, which was unveiled online today, will launch later this month on April 23. The line will combine her high-fashion style with "classic British luxury" and Mango's trend-setting approach. These influences are evident in tailored and feminine dresses, knitwear, statement bags, shoes, and accessories, according to a release from the brand. (Exact prices and sizes for the capsules have not yet been released, but the brand told WWD that prices will be higher than average to reflect the quality of the collection.)
Mango x Victoria Beckham is the latest in a series of collaborations the high-street brand has announced to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The brand has previously designed collections ranging from a minimalist workwear line with influencer Pernille Teisbaek to a beachy vacationwear capsule with SIMONMILLER.
So far, the collection's sneak peek is all staples of summer work attire, with an eager, sexy twist on crisp whites and crisp fabrics. Beckham and Mango shared a photo on Instagram of the models sitting poolside in matching white sets, wearing nothing but long blue-gray beaded necklaces under pleated high-waisted pants and oversized boxy blazers. The model also wears burgundy leather sandals with toe straps.
In another promotional image, the model emerges from the water in a halter-neck white dress with shirring on the sides and a slit in the front. Her jewelry consists of silver and gold chains stacked on her wrists, and her earrings are a single long sparkling string with a small gold ball at the tip.
One thing is certain: Posh Spice was on hand throughout the development of this collaboration. Traveling back and forth between London and Barcelona, Beckham and the Mango team created a lineup that the designer describes as "sensual, thoughtful, and feminine."
With understated tones and carefree silhouettes, Beckham told WWD that she wanted to capture Jane Birkin's effortless, understated personal style. Beckham said, "I've always played with both the feminine and the masculine, and I want to offer an effortless woman's wardrobe that is versatile and wearable."
In an earlier interview about building the business with French Vogue, Beckham admitted, "If I wasn't doing this, I don't know what I would be doing."
By the time this collaboration hits shoppers' closets, shoppers won't know how they got dressed without it.
This article will be updated as more information about the collection becomes available.
