Dua Lipa Test Drives No Pan Trend in the London Rain
Dua Lipa isn't afraid of April rain getting in the way of her street style. Walking around London on Thursday, she once again opted for the no-pants trend, despite the light rain.
The "Training Season" singer wore a sleek, bright green leather jacket by Ferragamo, styled over a micro-mini black dress; the hem of her LBD barely covered her thighs, leaving the rest of her legs exposed to the drizzle. Clearly, she didn't care.
The 29-year-old styled her ultra-short silhouette with sheer black tights and chunky knee-high boots. For accessories, she kept it chic with a medium-sized black tote bag straight from Prada's Fall 2024 collection and silver jewelry. (The Dua Lipa camp has not yet revealed the exact designer of her other looks.) She also wore her long, wavy red hair down.
The musician's low-key London outing came after she was spotted heading home from Paris last week with boyfriend Callum Turner.
On March 26, the British pop star moved in with the 34-year-old actor at London's St. Pancras station on her way home from the French capital. There, the singer coordinated Turner's all-black look with a dark green Raf Simon leather coat from the Maison's Fall 2019 collection. She also paired the black top with baggy jeans and Puma sneakers. She carried a black Hermes Birkin and wore Supreme Corso Tortoise sunglasses to tie the transit look together.
But back to Ripa's choice of no pants: this is not the first time she has tried her hand at controversial styling. The diva has endorsed the no-pants trend on numerous occasions, including at the 2024 BRIT Awards after-party.
At the post-ceremony celebration, singer "Houdini" wore a tiny red corset dress with an oversized leather jacket. She coordinated this racy combination with sheer black tights and pointed red slingback heels.
Ripa joins many style stars who have participated in this extreme trend on multiple occasions, including Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Taylor Swift, and most recently Kristen Stewart. This last-minute look has been carried everywhere from the red carpet to errands and, for Bieber, even church.
Long story short, the pantsless trend is not loosening its grip on fashion anytime soon. And Dua Lipa's take on the unconventional look challenges the status quo regarding how to dress for a rainy day.
