Zendaya to Remake Tennis White at Paris Premiere of "Challengers"
Zendaya on the red carpet at the "Challengers" premiere in Paris, France: three Louis Vuitton looks in one day is much better than one.
On April 6, she made her third and final appearance in tennis white (Zendaya version). Her Louis Vuitton custom look was a white strapless drop-waist gown with a bodice that extended into a gorgeous floor-length skirt. An equally bright white crisscrossed leather belt was secured at the waist and an asymmetrical train flowed behind her.
With stylist Lo Roach, Zendaya paired her custom Louis Vuitton gown with a Bulgari diamond choker necklace and stud earrings. Her honey blonde hair was curled in soft, Old Hollywood-like waves that cascaded down the low back of the dress.
Shortly after the angelic look hit the red carpet, Lo Roach posted behind-the-scenes photos of Zendaya's gown taken at Louis Vuitton's studio. She captioned it "The DRESS," before thanking Vuitton's Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière.
Of all the looks Zendaya has worn on the press tour for "Challengers," this was the most effortless take on the film's tennis core outfit. (It is the only color players are allowed to wear at Wimbledon, one of the most prestigious tournaments in tennis.) Her last choice of tennis attire in Sydney was a Lacoste sports bra and a deconstructed net skirt.
In fact, Zendaya wore an outfit splashed with green, like a Louis Vuitton coat cord, when she visited Paris to promote Luca Guadagnino's film The first, a checkerboard mini-dress, was from Marc Jacobs' The second was a silky shirt and matching pants from the Spring/Summer 1999 collection, both coated in chartreuse like tennis balls. Louis Vuitton is the perfect designer for a stay in Paris: Louis Vuitton is synonymous with French fashion. (Zendaya and Roach are masters of "method dressing," coordinating red carpet looks with on-screen characters.Dune: Throughout the press tour for part two, Zendaya will be wearing Mugler's robot suit and Givenchy's tech-inspired 's cyborg couture and other other otherworldly vintage to become the sci-fi warrior Chani.
With Challengers taking place in and around major tennis tournaments, the press tour is a perfect opportunity for Zendaya to try out sports-inspired fashion through contemporary silhouettes and designers. Her back-to-back looks in Paris are just the latest example: actress Zendaya will be making several more international stops on this promo tour with custom and archival fashions.
