Give Taylor Swift a pleated miniskirt, a sweater, and her trusty shoes, and she's off the hook.

The "Anti-Hero" singer once again resorted to the preppy attire formula that defined her tortured poet's department era over the weekend while on a daytime date with boyfriend Travis Kells, shortly after the two returned from a vacation in the Bahamas at Nobu in Malibu, Calif. They were spotted hanging out and holding hands.

While Kels opted for a simple gray sweater and black pants, the 14-time Grammy winner wore a baby blue Kyte crew neck, adding a subtle pop of color to her neutral-toned outfit. She wore this top with a Sandy Liang pleated mini-skirt, which she tucked into a black, black, and white silk t-shirt with a black, white, and blue lace trim.

Swift also accessorized her daytime date outfit with a brown Joseph Ducrot mini Diane bag and brown and white colorblock loafers from Reformation. Jackie Aish earrings and a Cartier necklace completed the look.

Two items in Swift's daytime outfit stood out as repeats from previous looks. It was nearly identical to the one she wore in New York last September. At the time, the 34-year-old was spotted late at night wearing an asymmetrical black tank top and a gray version of Sandy Liang's pleated skirt. The item is apparently a favorite of Elas Tour: coincidentally, singer Gracie Abrams wore the same when she opened for Swift in Los Angeles in April 2023.

The moment Swift's second outfit was repeated came from a pair of two-tone leather loafers. Close friends Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez also wore the brand repeatedly.

Taylor's date with Travis was a rare break in the singer's busy schedule. Swift will release her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, on April 19. She will then resume her Eras tour in Europe in May, with a final stop in Vancouver in December 2024.

Swift is leaning toward academia-inspired items such as pleated miniskirts, loafers, and cozy sweaters in light of the new musical era After performing in Melbourne, Australia in February, Swift opened the tour with dinner in Sydney with Sabrina Carpenter, who opened the tour, wearing two of her current style staples: a black corset top from House of C.B. and a Miu Miu micro mini.

Swift's schoolgirl look dates back to late 2023. One of the many examples of her affinity for pleated skirts is her December girls' night out with Selena Gomez. There, the pop star wore a Miu Miu mini skirt with an oversized shearling coat, a forest green top, and Reformation knee-high boots in burgundy.
