Cardi B Says "Barbicore Isn't Over" in Bubblegum Pink Gown

Cardi B Says "Barbicore Isn't Over" in Bubblegum Pink Gown

The overwhelming publicity about Barbicore has mostly died down, but Cardi B still hasn't quite caught on to the "Pretty in Pink" craze. On Tuesday night, the "Like What" rapper donned head-to-toe pink at the Hollywood Cares Foundation dinner in Los Angeles.

After a long night out, Cardi B was spotted returning home from a charity fundraiser at The Little Door in West Hollywood, and the 31-year-old's ensemble for the evening featured a form-fitting pink maxi gown. The sleeveless dress had a V-shaped open neckline and was embellished with pink crystals. (Neither the designer nor Cardi's usual stylist, Colin Carter, has come forward to identify the label behind the look.)

The WAP musician did not hesitate to put all her energy into Barbie's agenda. She added open-toed hot pink metallic sandals to the mix and accessorized with silver earrings.

Glamorous, she straightened her hair and swept it down her back. She also opted for smoky eyeshadow and a glossy pink lip.

Cardi B was surrounded by great company last night: a charity dinner was held for celebrities including Rihanna and Paris Hilton. A video posted on Instagram Stories by Alfredo Sanchez Ortiz, one of the event's attendees, shows Cardi B posing for the camera next to Rihanna.

The Barbie-core aesthetic was one of the biggest trends of 2023, largely thanks to the release of the Barbie movie and the subsequent press tour of the cast, all but star Margot Robbie. While the Internet has largely overcome the excessive use of pink in everyday wardrobes, and the 2024 color trend off the runway is leaning toward softer pastels, Cardi B. has yet to do so. If anything, her look may suggest that vibrant hues are here to stay through 2024.

In a recent interview for Complex's "360 with Speedy" series, the "Bodak Yellow" singer admitted that her self-esteem has declined in the last year. She stated that she was "scared" to live her life after seeing all the negative comments on social media.

"I feel like I've lost myself in everything. A lot of music commentators and everything and a lot of people are like, "She's afraid to drop the album; she's afraid to drop the music. She is afraid to drop the music. Last year, she hardly released any songs. She is afraid of everything. ......" . Now, she seems to be trying to make a comeback in fashion.
