Gigi Hadid's suit set is the opposite of corporate
First sour, then sweet. Gigi Hadid showed off both sides of her dramatic costume change during a Maybelline photo shoot in New York City this week.
The model first strutted down a closed-off street and pretended to hail a cab in an avant-garde suit. With a dramatic cropped blazer and loose-fitting pants, the look was far from typical work attire.
Hadid's blazer fits like a traditional men's suit jacket on the upper body, but ends at the chest. The breast pocket changes shape into a thin belt with metal diamond-shaped hardware that loops through the lapel. She layered this variant of the piece over a slouchy, crisp white button-down.
High-waisted wide-leg pants were worn with a black wrap belt with a silver rectangular buckle. She accessorized with a chunky gold ring and black pointed-toe heels that peeked out from the floor-skimming pants. As of press time, neither Hadid nor stylist Mimi Cattrell had revealed the designer of the look.
For her next trick, she changed the mood with a pink fur jacket, matching gray wool set, and gray-blue suede pointed-toe heels, with sheer black tights underneath.
The gray set kept with the alt-business theme with a button-front bustier-like vest-like top and matching loose-fitting pleated pants. However, the dusty blush pink fur coat was cropped and had a hood with a zip-up closure.
This was not Hadid's first Maybelline shoot. She has worked with the beauty brand in the past for several commercials and the Gigi Hadid x Maybelline collection.
Nor is this the first time Hadid has found new ways to remix workwear on and off the job. Last week, she paired an oversized blazer with platform loafers and styled leggings in business casual. Let her outfits be a lesson: Suits don't always have to be corporate.
