Kylie Jenner's peep-toe boots kick off the polarizing spring shoe trend.
There's a new polarizing shoe trend in town for spring 2024 — and it just received a joint autograph from Kylie Jenner. Today, while out for Paris Fashion Week, the Kardashian star wore thong-style stiletto boots that perfectly tapped into the pedicure forward style seen on runways such as Miu Miu, Versace and others. In addition to encapsulating the spring shoe trend, Jenner's peep toe boots were a prime example of her unprecedented experimental style.
The beauty Mogul's open-toe shoes featured a luxurious black leather upper and knee-high shaft and flowed seamlessly into a set of flip-flop-style straps. Her shoes were grounded with razor-thin metal stiletto heels that provide a thin and wobbly base. In the shoes in front of her toes, Jenner wore a black button-down mini shirtdress that hits right at her top thigh.
As for accessories, the Star embellished her look with a sleek black top handle bag with gold hardware and metal jewelry. The entire Jenner outfit included peep toe boots and consisted of unpublished pieces from Jacquemus' Spring/Summer 2024 collection.
Jenner's all-black outfit is just 1 of many things - her recent wardrobe features a matching little black dress, a flowing black maxi, and 2 pieces of black leather. If I didn't know better, I'd probably bet that Jenner is the face of a monochromatic marketing campaign.
Her all-black color palette aside, Jenner's latest look is the latest case study examining the return of peep-toe boots. This style first exploded in 2010 and was popularized by such labels as Christian Louboutin, Kat Maconie and Giuseppe Zanotti. The French fashion brand debuted its thong・strapped boots in the spring 2023 ready・to-wear collection, boosting the toe-front style with a modern trend cycle
Recently, Louis Vuitton, Versace and Victoria Beckham have all made their debut in the fashion world. In the spring-summer 2024 show included thong-style boots. In addition, it's not just Jenner who chose to show off her pedicure: Victoria Beckham and Sydney Sweeney are especially incorporating spring's most polarizing shoe trends into their wardrobes.
In other words, this is not what you will see at the end of the toe-forward style.
While it's unclear how long the trend in front of the toe will last (admittedly, it's not the most practical: your toes won't be cold, but your shins), it's fair to say that the predictions look long, with the support of fashionable celebrities. If you feel inspired by Jenner or recent runways and want to try your hand—er, toe, rather—was shopping for a selection of peep-toe boots
