While walking the red carpet for the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday, 3 May 10, the Barbie actress turned heads in a sizzling hot pink Versace gown, apparently taking 400 hours to make and needing the nimble hands of seven tailors, ABC News reported.
Ferrera's flamboyant dress was made entirely of pink chain mail, creating an airy glow. The silhouette of her gown featured a square neckline and sculptural bodycon shapes that flowed into subtle avenues.
For a momentous occasion, the 39-year-old actress completed her look with a pair of simple stud earrings, but decided to go bold with her necklace as she flaunted her elegant silver collar adorned with beaming jewels and added an undoubtedly luxurious touch.
"It feels like a princess fairy-tale moment," Ferrera tells E.He told the news. "Princess Barbie in a fairy tale, it's me.
As for her gram, Ferrera leaned on the look of her glamorous make-up, opting for soft smoky eyes, pink blush, and bare lips. The sister of the travel pants star wore her silky dark brown hair in a classy bob parted on the side.
Before she hit the carpet, Ferrera showed her followers a behind-the-scenes look at her glamorous process, posting a brief video of herself on her Instagram story while priming her hair and skin.

"It's so surreal and a dream come true for me," Ferrera told Entertainment Tonight when asked about her nomination. He told Entertainment Weekly. "I remember viscerally watching the Academy Awards, watching Halle Berry win, watching Julia Roberts win, being a kid who dreamed that one day I would be in that room," she added.
