D'vine Joy Randolph's red carpet fashion is as triumphant as her resume.
Da' Vine Joy Randolph had a very prolific 2024 award season. Here's just a sampling of trophies now sitting on the shelves of Holdbirds actresses: Golden Globes, Critics' Choice Awards, Film Actor Awards, and — the Little Golden Man to finish all awards — an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. To wit, Randolph's red carpet fashion deserves as much praise as her performance as Mary Lamb.
In collaboration with celebrity styling duo Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald (professionally known as Wayman+Micah), the actress has worked with 2024 breakout movie stars and fashion-too-cool-to-care leather trench coats to couture gowns made by heritage fashion houses. Randolph's Best Red Carpet,
Let's start with Randolph's latest look: The custom Louis Vuitton gown she wore for the 96th Annual Academy Awards. Before winning the Best Supporting Actress award for Alexander Payne's work, Randolph swept the red carpet for the 2024 Academy Awards in a baby blue dress with glitter and sequins. Her powdery gown featured a strapless halter neckline, feathered bore-like sleeves, and a dramatic train cascading a few feet behind her.
Later, to celebrate her well-deserved victory at Vanity Fair's 2024 Oscar party, Randolph turned into a strapless black dress that swapped pastel feel for a powerful vampire vibe. Her dark gown consisted of a variety of sheer and sequined panels, creating a charming silhouette that played with light and shape. She accessorised with a sampling of De Beers' jewellery, including white gold diamond rings and diamond stud earrings.
When attending the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, Randolph wore a maroon gown that featured 2 of this year's award season's biggest trends: Mermaid Core and - if you were traumatized by the 2010s, tighten yourself up — Peplum fit and Flare. This sculptural Merlot-colored dress was custom-made for the actress by Rodarte.
At the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, Randolph channeled a similar dark and vampire feel. The actress wore a black gown made by Giovanna Lewis that featured a structured velvet bodice, voluminous draped cap sleeves and a trumpet hem that spread over yet another long train. Norman Silverman jewelry, including earrings and a serpentine choker necklace, completed Randolph's red carpet moment.
However, at the 2024 SAG Awards, Randolph pivoted to lighter notes. She wore an off-white mermaid gown boasting a intricately draped bodice and a hand-sewn 3-D floral rosette. Her Valdrin Sahiti dress felt like a midpoint between a Greek goddess and an old Hollywood starlet.
At the British Academy Film Awards, where she also took home the Best Supporting Actress award, Randolph again wore a custom Robert Un gown that featured mostly expert drapes. Inspired by the brand's spring 2024 couture collection, her dress featured a contrasting ruched fabric strip of black and bright peach.
But Randolph's best red carpet looks aren't all high-octane gowns. When she attended the 2024 Film Independent Spirit Awards, she followed a more informal fashion route and chose a deep red leather trench and a matching trench coat.
Sadly, this year's awards season is over, taking Randolph's trophy and a marathon of memorable looks. Her star in the good news shines brightly, and this is only the beginning of her rise as a fashion heroine.
