The wildest and worst Golden Globe dress.
The Golden Globe Red Carpet is a fun tailoring space, often with large gowns and huge trains as common as avant-garde pieces. We love hits and mistakes by the same measure — the best Golden Globe gowns are, of course, a pleasure to fawn on, but mistakes are often more interesting:
Some of the guests of this list freely admitted after the fact that they misread the dress code; Others knew that the Golden Globe red carpet outfits were all wrong on that occasion, but their spectacular swing remains symbolic, in any case in history.
Picking out one "nude" (i.e., beige) dress is probably unfair because it was a popular trend and there is much to choose from. However, Rooney Mara is given special consideration as it is beige, semi-transparent in location, has random cutouts and ends up in haphazard lace chunks.
My joke about this is actually not wacky enough for my taste, as much of what Janelle Monae wears can be classified as "wild" and of course a gold hat is always a snack, but to my eyes it looks like she's wearing 2 dresses to each other.
In the 90s, princess dresses were not so popular. (We also really liked tulle, in case it wasn't obvious.I think I would have liked it better if this dress of Portia de Rossi was either all pink or all blue, but pink
piece-y is a fun way and piece-y is a casual way. I just want something in this dress to match something else because my eyes are confused, and that black always love Sienna
Jennifer Lopez can make almost anything work as it was a last・minute choice. I'm torn here because without roses a pink dress might feel too obvious, but I'm too much with them Maybe if it was a rose sleeve instead of an off-the-shoulder wrap.
Fran Drescher's choice to put a bouquet on his head was divisive at the time and remains to this day. As she wore it, she drew comparisons to the Chiquita banana logo, but also thanks to the fact that literally no one can take their eyes off her.
I actually really love this dress to Zoe Saldaña until we get to about the hip level. Then it turns into another dress that sorta might want to be sheer " or striped. Or beads. Or all 3, it's hard to say. I say cut out the lower half and make the whole thing mini.
A lot has been discussed about the trend of dress-over pants coming in and out of fashion (in the 00s, it was often hilariously explored). But the situation with this shirt, pants and half-dress/half-train is a little-known, but still confusing sibling.
With some tweaks, I would have absolutely loved this dress. I think I might be removing the bubble "layer" at waist level and giving the tie-dye pattern a little more uniform. There are fewer white spots and skilful blue patches. (Regardless: Very cool idea.
Like any other dress on this list, this could be trying to achieve too much at once. There are a lot of ideas for play: patterns. Different patterns. Overlay. that's the word thigh high slit. Cut-out corset-inspired top. And one shoulder will start.
I'm having a bit of an affair here because it doesn't look like Emma Stone walked the red carpet in this top and skirt. But it is still a golden globe dress, and therefore I justify its inclusion. 2 pieces are going to different parties — top to fun dinners, bottom to work events.
This immaculate figure of our Queen Oprah looks pretty unimpressive in the way of the 80s. But I will turn your attention to the head of a sparkly fake animal (fox mink.Stole around her shoulder. I can't make a head or tail of it. Pun intent, sorry.
It seemed difficult for Paula Abdul to breathe here. The fact that she fits the background (which is not her fault) doesn't help my brain analyze what's going on here, but
they certainly have their time and place. But I'm not sure if the place is someone's entire top. I think it's supposed to be an eye trick. But we also know there's an underlayer out there and the bare shoulders don't make sense to me.
It feels pretty youthful just to have a glittering headpiece for fancy, and Juliet Lewis wasn't even 20 years old here but I really like jewelry, sparkly shoes, sparkly dresses, really go for it and do whatever you know. I would have leaned forward in.
Gwyneth Paltrow has been giving us enviable fashion for decades, so it makes sense that they're not all going to be hits. This just feels a bit casual for the event (she looks like she's going to dinner with a girl, I'm right. And the necklace is felt.Random.
The style icon SJP would occasionally break outfits like you say "Huh.""That's the case with this black number. I'm with you, sort of, until we reach the brooch with a random sheer ribbon with clustered hips to her right. I think you just get rid of it.
Wacky is an important and successful part of Sharon Stone's style. But this is a little wacky messy, verrrrry high slit, silk top tied at the front (and hide the dress), and what to strain with buttons detailing at the sides Maybe take off the shirt.
I love Whoopi Goldberg, and part of that love is gratitude for how she dresses in a way that suits her, regardless of the event. But I admit that yellow leggings and leg warmers are an informal touch to the globe, especially when you win.
There is a ballet core, and then there is a ballerina-like dressing. You may not believe me, but I think with some tweaks this can work perfectly. Tulle should be longer (as in the memorable dress of Carrie in Sex and the City), and shoes should be of a different color. I think.
This dress actually makes it to the best and worst of the Golden Globes dress list, at least meaning that it's a conversation starter (and therefore probably a successful piece). I love the rainbow and I love the idea here, but the limp, drooping pattern may be a challenge for me.
Oh, Goldie. We love you. I feel like this might have a western vibe to it, what with the lace-up and button and snap details, if it had about 20% less business (and maybe if it was tied a bit more shut).I think it would feel more cohesive.
The sheer lace bodysuit in black doesn't necessarily look out of place today (with the right coverage, obviously— the globe isn't really a place for full sheer), but the blue fabric on feels like she looked at herself, freaked out and wrapped herself in a tablecloth.
Kate Bates You are a National treasure. Sorry, you're wearing 80s clothes here. (Technically this is from 1991 and she would win for misery. You could argue that the gold detail matches the statue she won, but I would argue that maybe the tassel jacket was a bridge too far away.
Putting aside a very laughable pose (i.e. taking a bite from her Golden Globes), Helen Mirren has a lot going on here. The skirt suit itself is completely uncomfortable, but the knee-high boots run a little casual, and the black hat hat thing is a mystery.
When you're wearing an item of clothing that is intended to make it seem like it's falling from you, you know it's somewhere in place, which means Cameron Diaz is in the midst of a quiet panic attack and trying to wind her dress back to her shoulder to make it inconspicuous. It looks like.
Callistas aren't the only ones who fall victim to this particular style, so let's say they were dressed like this at a formal event in the 90s (you can't forget matching shoes).). Random tendrils and even random shine of the fabric is not my favorite.
Even Diane Kruger is in this gown (or shorts.Everyone else was wearing a floor-length dress, so it was wrong for the occasion. She laughed at the fact that everyone can see her belly button — and frankly, I think she has a sense of humor about it
Wild and over-the-top style is Helena Bonham Carter's bread and butter, so don't be surprised to see her with this. . But in addition to the random boomerang-like fabric at the top of the gown, in addition to intermittent tulle, shoes that do not match - it's a lot.
Dressing as a flapper'fine, indeed. Dressing as a flapper with something like a bare paneling and a pattern of glitter that I can only say is "puzzled." If anyone can pull it off, it's Nicole Kidman, so I'm sad to say that no one can pull this off.
Cher has never met a dress code that she couldn't laugh at, as is the case with this blazer and skirt outfit. I would actually hit the eye with this, except for a random cut-out in the skirt that feels like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen as well.
And here we have.High fashion garbage bag. Courtney Love later admitted that even she thought the dress "looks crazy", but it matched the grunge-chic aesthetic of the time. She also admits that she had to make some changes to the dress and glue herself to it.
