Victoria Beckham's "Painting by Numbers" contour trick is honestly genius
Have you ever wondered how Victoria Beckham got such a chiseled jawline?
The 49-year-old recently took to Instagram to share some of her favorite beauty tips, including her very special contouring routine. In a video posted on Instagram on Sunday, January 14, to celebrate the restocking of Victoria Beckham Beauty's Contour Stylus, a fresh-faced Beckham carefully walked fans through the step-by-step process, sparing no detail or explanation.
"The reason I'm so excited about this contour is because I developed it with this very thin, tiny component. I wanted to be able to hold it like a pen and literally draw it on my face," she says.
Beckham began by "thinning the nose," adding two lines on either side of the feature. She says, "I like the two thin lines a little inside the eyebrows, but I don't want to overdo it because it can make you look angry."
Next, she goes to the cheekbones and adds two thin lines under the bone itself. Two "crosses" on the forehead create a natural shadow that pulls up the cheekbones, and a swipe under the chin and a swipe under the eyes add "natural shading."
"It looks a little crazy, but I wanted you to see it. This is how I do it," Beckham says in the video.
When it comes to blending, the fashion designer uses both a brush and his fingers, depending on the area of the face. While the buffing was in progress, viewers could watch the magic happen in real time.
"Painting by Numbers! I wanted a product for contouring that felt like a pen, so I simply drew and blended. This is my morning routine."
Naturally, the comments section of the post was filled with fans asking Beckham questions. Others praised the star, saying they had never enjoyed a makeup tutorial until she came along.
"Love it! It was my first time watching a makeup tutorial and it made me want to watch more of her videos. I have had a hard time with contouring.
Just a day later, Beckham shared and delivered her favorite "lip trick," which also features a contoured stylus.
"I use a lighter shade of Victoria Beckham Beauty's Contour Stylus around my mouth and apply it gently to give the illusion of fullness to my mouth and act as a great base for lip color." [Kiss xx."
