Julia Roberts jokes that the secret to staying beautiful forever is a "pickled" head
Julia Roberts may be asked all the time what her secret to aging beautifully is, but she seems a little fed up with the tongue-in-cheek answers she has been giving to this question lately.
For British Vogue, Notting Hill writer Richard Curtis asked Roberts about the secret to staying "glossy and young."
"It's a pickle," the "Pretty Woman" star replied deadpan. 'I put my head in a jar for 18 hours every other Saturday. It works great. It smells awful."
When pressed further, she gave a more honest answer: "I'm not serious. I believe in having good genes and living a fulfilling life, which is something I usually joke about, but I believe in the love of a good man. I believe that my husband loving me and caring for me makes me deeply, deeply happy. And whenever I see a happy person, it doesn't matter how old that person is."
Once again I ask the celebs to stop making me cry before lunch time. Am I asking too much? [Anyway, I really like Roberts' answer. She strikes a difficult balance by defining healthy aging by the quality of one's life.
Curtis, on the other hand, is less kind about herself, telling a longtime friend and colleague What do you see in the mirror? It looks like bread to me."
Roberts, however, assured him, "It doesn't look like bread."
Best. The best. The best.
