Emily Blunt intentionally copied Lenny Kravitz's backless jumpsuit into a twin.
Lenny Kravitz is a bona fide style risk-taker and has long since established himself as his own fashion icon on and off the red carpet (two words: blanket scarf). Naturally, there are plenty of people who have taken some of their sartorial pieces and tips from Kravitz (and his daughter Zoey) in an attempt to emulate at least some of his effortless coolness, but the latest celebrity to take inspiration from Kravitz's mood board may surprise you. Less than a week after the famous singer-songwriter wore an open-backed Alexander McQueen tuxedo jumpsuit to the 2024 Golden Globes, Emily Blunt (yes, you read that correctly) quickly got the exact same silhouette! Looks like.
Blunt pulled out the designer dress for an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The Oppenheimer star seemed to have taken a crash course in "Haley Bieber" minimalism, eschewing flashy accessories and instead letting the skin-baring ensemble itself make a statement. She paired that pantsuit with Tiffany gold earrings and open-toed black sandals. Speaking of glamorous styles, Blunt went for a glossy, shiny finish and wore her blonde hair in a messy, low bun.
Now, there are many A-listers who keep the source of inspiration for their outfits a secret, and they definitely do not usually embrace moments of imitation. But Brandt was quick to acknowledge everyone's suspicions: yes, she did, in fact, wear the same jumpsuit as Kravitz, and it was at her insistence.
In an interview with Colbert, the actor explained that she was already planning to wear a sophisticated number for her appearance. She had chosen a different McQueen look for the Golden Globes, a shiny nude gown embellished with gold sequins. Rather than choosing something completely different at the last minute, she solidified her choice to wear it anyway, as planned.
"So I saw him across the floor at the Golden Globes," Brandt told Colbert." I had already pre-planned this for your show, and thought, you know what, no, I'm still going to wear it." She went on to praise Kravitz: "There is something about Lenny Kravitz that I feel ...... When he walks into a room, the bus goes right over everyone else's cool factor. It sort of turns into a vapor." [Colbert complimented Brandt's look before holding up a photo of Kravitz and Brandt at the Golden Globes. (I seriously can't decide what I think!)
