Blake Lively turns redhead for role in "It Ends with Us"

The color red is really everywhere these days. Especially on the red carpet at the 81st Golden Globe Awards last weekend, where many celebrities dyed their hair red this winter. And now, yet another celebrity has been photographed with glossy red hair: Blake Lively. But this new look seems to have more to do with the movie she's in than her personal style.

Since her days on "Gossip Girl," Lively has been known for her flawless style and long golden hair. However, her appearance in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's "It Ends with Us" changed her look: the star now has orange-red hair that matches the look of the main character Lily Bloom.

Lively's hair retains its signature beachy waves and enviable length, but the new color, which is likely the work of a very good wig, is a marked change that will stop her fans in their tracks. But it offsets her blue eyes and warm complexion, which admittedly suits the star.

Lively's Lily Bloom is at the center of the infamous love triangle in It Ends with Us, which features Bloom's abusive husband and her first love, a homeless man she took in years ago. Although the story has been criticized for romanticizing domestic violence and abuse, the book (along with Hoover's other bibliography) remains a fan favorite and the film version is highly anticipated.
