Clarence (Stanfield) is a down-on-his-luck man living in Jerusalem in 29 AD who, in an attempt to get out of debt and into a life of glory, tries to take advantage of the rise of Jesus Christ by claiming to be the new messiah sent by God.

The synopsis reads, "After horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two lovers embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness, and body parts that go missing along the way." Officially, it's a romantic comedy adaptation of Robynne Lee's 2017 novel of the same name, about a 40-something single mother, Solène (Hathaway), who has a secret relationship with the lead singer of a band (Red, White and Royal Blue's Galitzine) she meets at a concert.
