2024 Golden Globe Awards, Stars Attracted to Silver Trend
The Golden Globe Awards is always a very shiny night. Beverly Hills, where the awards ceremony is held, is a megawatt city known for its inherent brilliance. Trophies sparkle and shine. The celebrity attendees have that special sparkle that A-listers always have. 2024's Golden Globes saw countless stars in glamorous metallic gowns, and the silver trend has been around for a while now. The silver trend has been a fashion fad for some time now, and now that it has been endorsed by Noami Watts and America Ferrera (see below for their looks) on the 2024 Golden Globes red carpet, we can expect the high-shine moment to continue.
We start with Garner, who chose a Christian Dior couture dress adorned entirely with eye-catching sequins. Featuring a longline column skirt, the dress flowed down to the floor and sparkled. Like Garner, Ferrera chose an eye-catching paillette. Ferrera, the Barbie star, wore a Dolce & Gabbana gown embellished with silver sequins. Ferrera's floral motif was a garden-fresh take on the rosette trend that continues to dominate the trend cycle.
Like Ferrera, Natalie Portman also drew inspiration from the garden, as the May-December star wore a Dior Haute Couture ball gown. Although her take on silver was more abstract than the chrome and sequin numbers of, say, Garner, Portman brought in the glittery trend through the dress' glitter effect.
Elizabeth Debicki, who won the Best Supporting Female Actor in a Television Role for "The Crown," also wore a stunning silver dress. Debicki, who played Princess Diana in the series, was regal in a metallic gown with crisscrossing straps and an embellished square neck. She layered diamond necklaces and bracelets to accentuate the gown's sparkle, and her long platinum blonde hair added yet another silvery nuance to her entire ensemble.
Naomi Watts, who has been cast as Babe Paley in the upcoming season of Ryan Murphy's "Feud," also made an impressive addition to the silver trend. Appearing in a one-shoulder FENDI Couture swirled column gown, she too was dressed in silver.
