Selena Gomez gives red carpet endorsement to $130 bag

Selena Gomez had a memorable run at the 2024 Golden Globes, with a nomination for her series Only Murders in The Building, a gossipy romp with Taylor Swift, and a killer red carpet look. Gomez has graced awards season with expensive jewelry and designer adornments on numerous occasions, but at last night's ceremony, the multi-hyphenate celebrity decided to take a high-low approach: at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, Gomez wore JW PEI's Gabbi Bag had.

The Only Murders In The Building star graced the red carpet in a custom red asymmetrical gown by Armani Privé, but off the carpet, she completed her couture moment with a sub $130 handbag. Yes, that's right. Gomez's go-to stylist, Erin Walsh, wore the JW PEI Gabbi Artificial Crystal Medium Ruched Hobo Handbag (red, $129) with the Rare Beauty founder's glossy ruby red gown and matching seamlessly paired with metallic red heels.

As having the possibility of having the same handbag as Selena Gomez is a budget-friendly win in our book, we don't often see red carpet accessories that are attainable or affordable. We probably wouldn't match it with a custom Armani, but we can dream, right? "The Golden Globes look also featured a popular trend on the carpet last night: red. Fashion's current obsession with fiery red was co-signed by Ayo Edebiri, Florence Pugh, Julianne Moore, Barry Keoghan, and many others in addition to Selena.

Now, back to Gomez's trendy handbag. This affordable vegan bag brand is a favorite among celebrities, especially the signature Gabbi model, and the selection of handbags is not entirely out of left field. Gigi Hadid, Hailey Bieber, Irina Shayk, and Emily Ratakowski have all been spotted carrying different iterations of the JW PEI Gabbi handbag, making it an affordable "It" bag. 2024 Golden Globe Awards was its first was the red carpet debut of the luxurious, faux crystal handbag, which fits right in amongst the sea of designer clutch bags.
