The prelude to the Academy Awards ceremony, which took place last night in Los Angeles, showcased some stunning sartorial moments. From Julianne Moore in a Valentino mirror ball cape dress to Florence Pugh in a custom crystal-studded Rodarte, the best red carpet looks at the 2024 Governors Awards were a feast for the eyes.

Pugh's ensemble was neither Valentino (she is an ambassador for the brand) nor sheer (the Oppenheimer star adores naked dresses, and she is a brand ambassador).
